Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend

I got my first pair of diamond earrings on my 16th birthday from my parents. They combined the gift with a note that I still have today. It read, “We have watched you grow from an adorable baby girl into a precocious child and today, into a beautiful young woman. Cherish the gift for the rest of your life and remember how you feel right now, on this day, and how special you have made us feel as parents.” I’m not sure what got to me more…the earrings or the note, but suffice to say, I still have both. There is something magical about the first diamond a girl receives. For some, their engagement ring might be the first and for others, they may have received their first as a small child. Although the reactions at different ages might be noticeably different, the result is the same. What girl doesn’t want to sparkle? A diamond can truly make a woman shine. There is something so classically elegant about a pair of diamond stud earrings, or a delicate diamond tennis bracelet. In other words, they will never go out of style and will stand the test of time. And, to put it quite simply, the sparkle will never go away, and only enhances the natural sparkle that a girl or woman exudes. This holiday season, consider diamonds for that special female in your life. Hone up on your knowledge on the 4 C’s, which are the cut, color, clarity and carat. By working closely with a jeweler on these four aspects of diamonds, the perfect stone can be found to fit any budget. You do NOT have to spend thousands of dollars to find the perfect statement piece that says, “I love you. I cherish you. I adore you.” I’ll be honest. My parents were not wealthy when I was a teenager and those diamond earrings I got from them were just tiny stones. But in my eyes, they radiated the brilliance of 10 carats because they came from the heart from the people I loved most in the world. I still have those diamonds today. In fact, they currently reside almost permanently in my ears and have for years. Maybe they really are my best friend.
