The holiday season in Southeast Texas wouldn’t be complete without the community’s most valued holiday tradition — Alter’s Gem Jewelry’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting & Winter Carnival. This year is our 12th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting & Winter Carnival, and we invite you to experience an evening of light, laughter, and community on Wednesday, November 26, from 5 to 7 p.m.
As the day ends and the first stars glisten above Beaumont, friends and families will gather together around our 45-foot Christmas tree—a tradition that has become the hallmark of togetherness across Southeast Texas. Each tree light reflects the warmth of our community, making the holidays even brighter for our loved ones.
Our annual tree lighting takes place around 6:45 p.m., or as the night sky falls dark enough on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Festive Activities for All Ages
Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy an array of holiday booths and stations offering timeless seasonal fun. Families are encouraged to capture a memory with Santa, decorate stockings, participate in bounce-house adventures, and watch the kids' faces light up with festive face paintings.
Little ones can also write letters to Santa, and if they’re lucky, they may even receive a response in the mail from the man in red himself! After sending your letter to Santa, slip into your ice skates and glide around our highly anticipated ice rink that will be returning for Alter’s Gem Jewelry winter carnival event this year.
This year, we are spreading a little more joy throughout the event with our new Candy Cane Station! Here, our Alter’s Gem Jewelry family will be passing out 2,000 candy canes as a simple gesture in hopes of bringing joy, smiles, and the childlike spirit of the holiday season to you.
Seasonal Treats and Live Entertainment
No holiday celebration is complete without festive treats. Guests can indulge in hot chocolate, popcorn, and freshly baked gingerbread cookies, complete with icing for decorating. Adding to the joyful atmosphere, the talented performers from iRule Dance Academy will take the stage with a live performance that captures the energy and excitement of the start of the Christmas season in Beaumont and all of Southeast Texas.
A Tradition That Shines Bright
The annual tree lighting started in 2014 in honor of Alter's Gem Jewelry's 100th holiday season. What began as a simple idea influenced by Brian's affection for Hallmark Christmas movies, where the town collectively comes together and celebrates community and camaraderie under twinkling lights, has continued to develop into an experience that brings people together, year after year.
At its heart, this celebration has always been about more than lights and festivities. It’s about connection, kindness, and creating memories that last long after the season fades.
